Teaching: Professor Castleman teaches community health nursing.
Research: Professor Castleman is a Project Mainstream Fellow 2002-2004, with a research focus on tobacco prevention programs. She is involved in the development of Partners in Prevention of Substance Abuse (PIPSA) known as ATAC.
Service: Professor Castleman works extensively with community organizations in East Gainesville. She is a consultant for the UF Nursing Student Association and has actively promoted the UFNSA at local, state, and national levels. Professor Castleman currently serves on the University of Florida Tobacco Task Force, the Steering Committee for the Alachua county Health Department Tobacco Program, Alachua County in Partners in the Prevention of Substance Abuse Coalition, the School Board of Alachua County School Health Advisory Committee, and ACT for Healthy Kids and the Alachua County Child Abuse Prevention Task Force.
Clinical practice area/expertise: Professor Castleman’s clinical expertise is in the area of Public Health, specifically in health promotion and disease prevention.
Education: Professor Castleman received her BSN in Nursing at the University of Michigan. She received her MS in Community Health Nursing at the University of Rochester.
