Prospective Students > PhD in Nursing Science Program > North Florida PhD Consortium > Program Description
The consortium's doctoral courses are transmitted to Tallahassee, Jacksonville and Pensacola via an interactive audio-visual system. Students attend classes simultaneously on three campuses. Doctoral classes are offered one day per week. Students may transfer a maximum of 12 credits in a minor or area of specialization and an additional 6 credits of elective courses, from the participating consortium universities to the University of Florida in order to meet the required 62 credits for the degree. Note: The University of Florida Graduate School will not accept satisfactory grades as transfer credits. Transfer courses must be graded in order for the student to receive credit.
The College seeks to enroll a class of highly qualified students with varied backgrounds and interests. Such diversity contributes to the learning environment for all students, and has historically produced graduates who have served all segments of society and become leaders in our profession.
