Facilities and Equipment
The College's facilities in the Health Professions, Nursing, and Pharmacy (HPNP) building provide increased space and resources for a burgeoning research program. The nursing building contains multiple research participant data collection/examination rooms, including a two-way observation room. A wet laboratory allows researchers to process, store and analyze physiological samples. In addition, a large suite of rooms in the Health Science Center serves as research space for investigators with ongoing funded studies.
The College maintains a variety of equipment and software that is available to assist researchers in planning research, collecting and analyzing data, and disseminating results. These resources are located in the wetlab or the Office for Research Support's suite and are administered by that office:
- ELx plate reader and accompanying KC Junior software
- Eppendorf centrifuge 5804
- -80 C freezer
- Basic wet lab equipment and supplies
- Sample Power (Software used to determine sample requirements for alpha and beta errors.)
- EndNote (reference software)
- HP plotter (large-format printer for posters and other display material)
- HP color scanner
