Literature Search and Retrieval
Literature Search
The College of Nursing librarian will conduct literature searches on specified topics for College faculty and staff. To request a search, fill out the online form at http://www.library.health.ufl.edu/Pam/LiteratureSearch.htm and submit it electronically or print it and mail or fax it to the librarian. Provide as much detailed information about your topic as possible. If you know of a good article on the topic, please provide the citation so the librarian can use it to find similar articles. The CON librarian will complete the search within 48 hours of receiving it, using such databases as MEDLINE, CINAHL, PsycINFO, or others.
Literature Retrieval
Faculty members who conduct their own research-related literature searches may provide a list of references to the ORS and a research assistant will retrieve copies of the articles or books from a UF library. For articles not available in the UF library system, the ORS will order and pay for a limited number of articles through interlibrary loan. The ORS will also assist with the retrieval and printing of online journal articles, but this task will have lower priority. To request literature retrieval services, submit a support request form to the ORS ( lrinfret@ufl.edu or HPNP 2201) along with a list of references with the requested articles clearly indicated.
Copy Cards
Alternatively, faculty members may request a copy card from the ORS to complete her or his own research-related literature retrievals. Contact the ORS office manager ( lrinfret@ufl.edu , HPNP 2201) to arrange to pick up or replenish a copy card.
